Betty Nguyen has a 20 year career in art production, management and curating that lends her the foresight and resourcefulness to professionally launch projects end to end. She has advised scalable projects with Fortune 500 companies, public sculpture commissions, museums, magazines, retail and fashion brands, film and music festivals, galleries, and environmental agencies.
Nguyen lends an instinctive direction, always thinking one step ahead of market trends and has the vision to identify areas of strengths and weakness, and supply and demand, to improve business and communicate effectively. She introduces strategies that are attainable within set budgets and can produce fast results to satisfy a client's short-term needs and long-term goals.
She earned a BFA Double Major in Fine Art and Art Direction where she was selected to represent the United States in a worldwide renowned set design competition at the age of 23. While in college, she worked as a Production Manager for film festivals and after landed as a Brand Strategist in Tokyo. Moving to Paris in 2002, she was on the curatorial team that launched the innovative, late night public arts festival Nuit Blanche where city-wide museums opened after dark and were actived with live events. In 2006, she made her museum curatorial debut with "Cosmic Wonder", including James Turrell's only participation in a group show along with Doug Aitken, Yayoi Kusama and 25 others.
She published the catalog for the "Cosmic Wonder" and founded the arts publication, First Person. It served as a curatorial platform printing conversations between herself and artists in their studios, at dinners with art dealers, commissioned portfolios of works to be shown together for the first time and included artist features exploring a set of concepts or parameters for each issue. She also worked as the Content Editor for Christian Jankowski's retrospective monograph overseeing the copy for a 500 page hardback book in which she secured the publisher, Koenig Books in 2013.
With an international background of field experience, she is open to progressive ways of influencing and can put ideas into action quickly producing and managing a project from multiple touch points.
